Lubrication Engineers (LE) recently introduced its newest food-grade lubricant for use in food-manufacturing plants, especially for those applications where severe conditions such as high temperatures, heavy loads and water are present.

H1 Quincal Syn FG Grease (4070-4072) is a high-performance synthetic lubricant that is NSF H1 registered for incidental food contact. It is especially effective when used on bearings operating in a warm, moist environment or in operations where water is needed to keep equipment cool.

The grease combines a synthetic base fluid, a calcium-sulfonate-complex thickener and the Quinplex impact-resistant additive to impart a high dropping point, extreme-pressure characteristics, mechanical stability, low oil bleed, tackiness and water resistance.

The calcium-sulfonate-complex thickener helps to prevent rust and corrosion, while the high dropping point contributes to the grease's extreme-pressure resistance without the need for heavy metals.

"This is our third new calcium-sulfonate-complex product that we have introduced in as many years," said John Sander, LE's vice president of technology. "Our customers who are using these products are seeing positive results with their equipment, uptime and bottom line."

H1 Quincal Syn FG Grease is recommended for use in a variety of food-processing applications, including blenders, cookers, filling machines, canning machines, bottlers and packaging equipment.

The grease is available in three grades and certified kosher pareve by the Orthodox Union and halal by the Islamic Food and Nutrition Council of America.
